Let's face it, despite the Non Disclosure contracts people signed, this was going to be talked about.

My guess is Snyder knew that, so he threw a curveball on everyone. Now, a select group of know it alls will probably go into the film proclaiming to know the ending and have the rug pulled from under them when the ending turns out to be the original ending from the book.

The idea the Snyder would pay so close attention to the source material and then change the ending sounds odd considering they've pretty much stuck to the book by the teeth.

But since the actual reasoning and motive for the ending stays intact, I'm open to seeing how it's different.

Alan Moore is probably banging his head against a wall right now.Dustinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15693348353175127488noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467779091159837681.post-55942979149397737042008-10-21T16:53:00.000-04:002008-10-21T16:53:00.000-04:00they also screened the new flash trailer there! h...they also screened the new flash trailer there! here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0O_benaKlsAAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467779091159837681.post-22442423608976271742008-10-05T06:26:00.000-04:002008-10-05T06:26:00.000-04:00Role Models is one of the few winter comedies that...Role Models is one of the few winter comedies that I’ve been hearing good things about, and rightfully so.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467779091159837681.post-14597296354877351792008-10-01T18:48:00.000-04:002008-10-01T18:48:00.000-04:00Go to this fabulous fan website for anything you e...Go to this fabulous fan website for anything you ever wanted to know about this movie.

http://www.australiamovie.net/

Basically, from another great fan site at: http://www.bazthegreatsite.com/australiamovie.htm

"Australia is the story of Lady Sarah Ashley (Nicole Kidman), a highly strung English aristocrat who leaves England in 1938 to follow her husband to Australia. He is in Australia with the intention of selling his cattle station. However, Lady Ashley believes he is having an affair and travels out there to confront him. The cattle station is located in the far north of Australia, and when she arrives she find herself in a strange land; her husband is dead and her only assets are a piece of land the size of Belgium and two thousand head of cattle.

Lady Ashley is forced to unite with a rough, hewn cattle drover (Hugh Jackman) in order to protect her ranch from a takeover plot. Over the next four years, the story follows these two characters as they undertake an epic cattle drive across the Australian landscape. When they finally reach their destination, they are caught up in the first of the Japanese bombings of Darwin during World War II (1942). During the course of her epic journey, Lady Ashley falls in love with the drover, and the Australian landscape, and realises that her life is not over, and there's always a new life to be had. The title Australia is intended to sum up the story of her life - her journey, the landscape, and the people she meets - all of which transform her life forever."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467779091159837681.post-62117064207480419982008-09-22T19:17:00.000-04:002008-09-22T19:17:00.000-04:00I have Kung Fu Hustle for you if interested. I'd also point you to another Stephen Chow flick called "God of Cookery" which in my opinion is funnier than both Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle. But that's like me saying Blazing Saddles is better than Young Frankenstein. You can't go wrong with either choice.

Green Hornet is essentially much like the Adam West Batman; campy, fun, a lot of fighting. In fact there is one episode of Batman in which Batman and Robin faceoff/team-up with Green Hornet and Kato. Apparently there was a bit of a controversy when Robin was supposed to fight Kato and win. I'm not sure if it was Bruce Lee who protested, but in either case, the fight instead ends in a draw. Which we all know would have never happened.

Unfortunatly Green Hornet wore a suit pretty much like The Spirit so there's no tights for Rogen.

If you can't tell, the fact that I'm 22 and I know of a show that really only aired in the 60's means i'm a sad bastard, but I really can't wait to see this, because CHow has yet to deliver a dud. I highly doubt it would be a film like this.Dustinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15693348353175127488noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467779091159837681.post-57281349096859920432008-09-12T09:43:00.000-04:002008-09-12T09:43:00.000-04:00Oh i wasn't saying that you hought it was unsucces...Oh i wasn't saying that you hought it was unsuccessful. There's just quite the majority of folks who believe, and still do, that it should be live action only. There's certainly room for both.

Nowadays, the idea isn't to bridge the gap, it's more about breaking the mold. And a lot of people who want to do that are quaified to do so. This could be due to lack of talent, or lack of experience in both mediums.

I'd rather them make it practical too, but when the time comes for cgi effects, use them when necessary.

I just hope that some of the style that was brought to the series visually from the new film be transferred over to the impending live action/cgi sequel, reboot, whatever.

The last film to really blend the digital with reality that was good was transformers. But I don't remember there ever being a big threat in the TMNT universe that would warrant the use of a lot of pecial effects. maybe krang may need to be a cgi/puppetry hybrid. Who knows?Dustinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15693348353175127488noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467779091159837681.post-22862886519138023402008-09-12T07:51:00.000-04:002008-09-12T07:51:00.000-04:00i don't think TMNT was unsuccessful, in fact I thi...i don't think TMNT was unsuccessful, in fact I think most people would agree that that was a damn good looking movie. The animation was pretty slick all around, and the voice acting was decent (again, something the original live action film did much better). And I would love to see them do a fully live action adaptation again, with guys runnin around in big bulky jim henson suits. But the reality is, we live in the age of digital technology, and that means a hybrid. It will always be a hybrid from here on out. If you think about it tho, the original star wars was a hybrid of practical effects and very early digital effects. And that movie looks great. We need to get back to combining the digital with the practical. Some CGI monsters AND some real ones. Textured and detailed blue screen backgrounds WITH actual sets for the actors to interact with. You have to ground the digital effects in reality for people to believe them, and I think that it could actually be done very successfully with the Ninja Turtles. In fact (although I doubt they'll give them enough money to accomplish this) Ninja Turtles could be groundbreaking in its use of interaction between digital and practical.G.Retthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02984819127010343120noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467779091159837681.post-74487132588800809342008-09-10T11:50:00.000-04:002008-09-10T11:50:00.000-04:00I really think the whole cgi/live action hybrid th...I really think the whole cgi/live action hybrid thing is ridiculous. Especially nowadays. What would make this like the original ninja turtles film if only the human characters are real?

My thoughts are either make it completely CGI or Live action. After seeing what was done in hellboy 2 in turns of that whole troll market scene, if the intent was to make creatures, as well as the turles look that good, go for it.

I liked the cgi version. It was the first time i noticed that each turtle had a different body type. They weren't all bulky with the only identifying characteristic was their weapon and their bandana color.

The film's flaws fell more on the budget than the creative team. If you look at the studios' quick clip of Gatchaman, you see what the success of TMNT did to help push the quality of their new films. Here's hoping their astroboy knocks it out of the park.Dustinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15693348353175127488noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467779091159837681.post-85531701583589347232008-09-03T20:49:00.000-04:002008-09-03T20:49:00.000-04:00oh that's awesome man, did you get a chance to see...oh that's awesome man, did you get a chance to see slumdog millionaire? that seems to be the film everyone is talking about from there.G.Retthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02984819127010343120noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467779091159837681.post-57412838525396400532008-09-03T13:08:00.000-04:002008-09-03T13:08:00.000-04:00I just got back from Telluride last night. Here's the gu...I think that's Miller's genius plan. Here's the guy who pretty much perfected the "Gritty, Raw, Violent, Sexual, Graphic" style of comics. Twenty Years later, just about every comic is trying to mimic Frank Miller. Even to the point that when Frank Miller does it, he looks soft in comparison. Check out All Star Batman and Robin. I hated it at first but now i see that Miller was pulling my leg the whole time. He takes batman, makes him the angsty screaming madman like he was in Dark Knight Returns, and makes him look abslutely insane. It's hysterical!

Certainly there have been stories that have been done recently that have pushed the boundaries of the artform, but now it's refreshing when someone comes out and does something that's not at all serious, fun, and a bit campy.

Some people have cried out how he's basically defacing Will Eisner but at that panel, Miller said he would never rehash what Eisner has done, but instead use the best technology possible to make something new and interestng.

That to me is much more satisfying than seeing what would essentially had become Mx Payne with a mask if done by someone who was not friends with Eisner. Not to mention, they also discussed how every shot was decided by whether or not Eisner would approve. Sure that could be BS, but Miller talks about Eisner in a way that you just know he's making sure he doesn't screw up.

-DustinDustinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15693348353175127488noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2467779091159837681.post-14185014065085955622008-08-13T12:42:00.000-04:002008-08-13T12:42:00.000-04:00you know I just read some comments over on cinemat...you know I just read some comments over on cinematical where a guy brought up the point that Miller was the one who took camp out of comics, and now for his directorial debut he's putting the camp back in?
