If Stephen Colbert were actually president...

It would go something like this.  The trailer of Monsters and Aliens won't be up for long I'm sure, so check it while you can.  I'm typically unimpressed by the large, star-studded voice casts they have for these movies, and Dreamworks animation usually disappoints, but I think all signs point to go on this one.  The preview is funny without trying too hard, and the cast seems like a balanced fit for once.  What do you think?

I think Dreamworks ANimation is finding itself now. I think Surf's Up showed they could definitely do more than Shrek, and Kung Fu Panda was pretty awesome. They're still no ixar, but now every animation company is gonna start churning out blockbuster films from the beginning.

You know I never saw Surf's Up, but I actually heard good things. I'm impressed by the idea of doing an animated mockumentary (that is what that movie was basically right?). And I heard Kung Fu Panda was actually really well put together. I'll have to look into seeing both of those in the near future.

Yeah, SUrf's up felt like The Office for kids. Some of the ways they made the video look like vintage stock footage and the way the camera is held make you feel like the world is real.

And Kung fu Panda was just fun all around. Many people harp on the film being more successful than Wall-E because of it's "dumed down" story but I guess a company like Pixar never makes a film with a predictable ending.
